Final Call for Artists: Sauti za Busara 2024
|
Sauti za Busara is a pan-African music festival centred in Stone Town, Zanzibar each year during February, attracting thousands of music lovers from near and far. Organisers are preparing the 21th edition, to take place from 09th – 11th February 2024.
Showcasing live music that is diverse, unique, and with cultural identity, energy, excitement, and positive vibes. The festival gives priority to women musicians, young and emerging talents from across the African continent and diaspora.
We encourage all artists playing unique music connected to African regions to apply to participate.
The deadline to receive completed artists’ applications is 31 July 2023 (midnight EAT).

All applicants will be notified of outcomes before September.The final line-up of confirmed artists will be announced in October 2023.
Artists from outside the region are usually required to find their own travel sponsors and the festival will support them where possible.

Starting this month July, the Busara Promotions NGO and its globally renowned annual music festival will be under new leadership. Now aged 61, Yusuf Mahmoud, the founder CEO and Sauti za Busara festival director says the time has arrived to hand over to younger leaders, with more stamina and fresh ideas.
Commenting on his new appointment, Lorenz Herrmann, the new Managing Director said, “My strong background in arts management, combined with my passion for promoting cultural diversity and supporting artists, align perfectly with Busara Promotions and make me well-equipped to take on this role”.
