BUSARA SAYS THANK YOU!

First of all, we would like to say a massive thank you to all the music lovers, artists, crew members, and supporters that made the 21st edition of Sauti za Busara yet another one for the books. There was a vibrant, exhilarating atmosphere in the air throughout the weekend, and we can’t be more thankful to be concluding yet another successful edition ofour beloved Festival!

Over three days, 20,000 people from across the world attended and witnessed the wealth and diversity of artists the festival had to offer, enjoying the festival parade that was back on after the COVID break, two free stages in Forodhani Gardens and in Fumba Town and of course the Amphitheatre Stage and Main Stage in the Old Fort.

This year’s festival showcased electrifying performances by world-class talents from Nigeria, South Africa, Mozambique, Zanzibar and Tanzania, Kenya, Algeria, Uganda, Zimbabwe, DRC, Reunion and Ethiopia.

The 22nd Edition of the Sauti za Busara festival will shake the walls of Stone Town from 14 – 16 February 2025. Artists are invited to take to the stage and showcase their talent, culture, and passion for music!

The Call for Artists is open from the 1st of April until the 31st of July 2024.

Applications received afterward will not be processed.

Sauti za Busara showcases diverse music from the African Continent and diaspora.

Preference is given to:

• Original music with a cultural identity that is connected to Africa.
• Women artists, or groups led by women
• Young, new, and emerging talents
• Music with messages that are positive, relevant, and useful to society
• Music that is performed ‘100% live’!
