ANCESTORS is more than a music group — it is a powerful movement born to awaken the memory and spirit of the peoples of West Africa. Created during the residency Togo – France – Jamaica: Reggae Harmony with African Roots, ANCESTORS carries a profound mission: to bring reggae back to its source — to the rhythms, memories, and spiritual power of our ancestors.

Though forcibly torn from their homelands and stripped of their drums, African ancestors carried with them their souls, prayers, and inner rhythms. Through centuries of exile and resistance, these vibrations survived and blossomed into reggae in Jamaica. ANCESTORS gathers these fragments of history and breathes new life into them, weaving traditional West African instruments with deep basslines and powerful vocals.

On stage, ANCESTORS transcends the ordinary, transforming each performance into a sacred ceremony — a living circle that connects past and present, Africa and its diaspora, memory and future.

Guided by the Ankh cross, a symbol of eternal life and transmission, ANCESTORS creates music that is ancestral, rooted, and universal. Through their unique fusion of roots reggae and sacred West African music, the group invites listeners to awaken consciousness, unite communities, and remember that vibration never dies — it travels, returns, and heals.
