Evans 'Pfumela' Mapfumo is a singer-songwriter and guitarist from Zimbabwe. His music is inspired by real events including war, poverty and child abuse, enriched with messages encouraging peace, love and unity.

His band has a vibrant stage presence, fusing traditional rhythms played on marimba and mbira with acoustic guitar and other instruments. They have performed at the World Cup Fan Festival in South Africa (2010), Cape Town Summer Market Festival (2012), National Arts Festival (South Africa) and Harare International Festival of the Arts (HIFA, 2015).

Evans Mapfumo has a Bachelor's Degree in Ethnomusicology and is currently a lecturer at the Zimbabwe College of Music.
