    Anna Kattoa & Bantu Sound is an exceptional and vibrant band celebrated for their dynamic sound, commanding stage presence, and captivating African contemporary dance. Anna’s artistry shines through her powerful performances and authentic compositions that fuse traditional African rhythms with a rich tapestry of global music genres, including Taarab, Jazz, Pop, and Funk. This innovative blend has led to the rebirth of the "Bantu Sound."

    Renowned for their mesmerizing live shows, Anna Kattoa & Bantu Sound create irresistible grooves using powerful and exotic instruments that connect audiences with the spirits of African ancestors. Their performances offer a unique experience of spiritual freedom, entertainment, relaxation, meditation, soul healing, and education.

    Driven by a passion for musical experimentation, Anna has collaborated extensively and mastered a range of unique instruments, including the Irimba (inspired by Msafiri), Cajon, Ngoma (hand drum), Kidumback bass (a traditional bass from Zanzibar), and the Looper (for harmonies and beat-making). These instruments, drawn from various Tanzanian tribes and cultures, enrich her sound and showcase her versatility.

    Anna’s dedication to her craft is evident in her diverse discography. Her notable works include "Afrika Song" (APF Studio, Bagamoyo), "Kalunde Song" (APF Studio), "Mazingira" (Msafiri ft. Anna Kattoa), "Binti Amka Project Song" (C9 Record), and "Tikisiko" (Corona Tragedy Song). Her track "Kijanisha" (Anna Kattoa ft. Msafiri Zawose) won the 2019 Beyond World Music Award for Best World Environmental Song Composition.

    Anna Kattoa & Bantu Sound have graced numerous events and festivals, including the Pan-African Women Summit 2021, Mashariki Festival 2021, Marafiki Festival 2022, and the Mpaako Zanzi Festival 2022. Their performances continue to captivate audiences and leave a lasting impression.
