Kara Sylla Ka & Baye Fall Band
Mamadou Sylla Ka, known artistically as Kara Sylla Ka, has been immersed in music since childhood. Hailing from Senegal, Kara possesses a sublime voice and an artistic vision that bridges tradition and innovation. His music is rich, melodious, and emotionally resonant—effortlessly moving between Afro, acoustic reggae, folk soul, and blues, while blending modern textures with the sounds of his Fulani heritage.
Over the years, Kara has released a number of critically acclaimed albums, including:
Sante Yallah (2003), NdIYAM (2005), Welti Bamboule (2008), Yolélé (2010), Mokoté Afrobeat (2012), Fatima (2016), Fulaani Blues (2020), and UMO (2023).
In 2023, Kara took his vision to the next level by forming Kara Sylla Ka & Baye Fall Band — a vibrant 9-piece ensemble forged between Geneva and Dakar, and named in honor of the Baye Fall spiritual brotherhood, known for their devotion to music, art, and communal values.
The band’s sound is a powerful fusion of classic Afrobeat and contemporary influences — rooted in tradition, yet fearlessly modern. Hypnotic basslines, intricate percussion, spiritual energy, and uplifting horns form a high-voltage musical experience that draws audiences into movement and reflection alike.
Kara’s message is universal and grounded — singing in multiple languages, the band explores themes of spirituality, love, cultural identity, and social justice. Their concerts become more than performances; they are transformative rituals of rhythm, soul, and collective joy.
With each show, Kara Sylla Ka & Baye Fall Band invites the world into a space of healing, resistance, and connection — honoring the past while dancing boldly into the future.
