Media Accreditation
Media Accreditation form is now available fill in accordingly please note deadline for registration is midnight EAT on 31st December 2024.
Advance registration is mandatory for all media professionals; it will not be possible to apply on site.
Eligibility
Accreditation is granted only to professionals assigned by recognised media. You may be required to provide evidence from the editor of your organisation confirming you are assigned to cover the festival.
Ordinarily, accreditation is limited to THREE places per media organisation.
There are THREE types of Press accreditation: PRESS pass, PHOTO pass, VIDEO pass. Please apply for the one that is correct for you. Places are limited and we cannot change your pass after it is issued.
PRESS pass benefits
- Admission (as public) to the festival
- interviews with festival artists (by arrangement)
- use of festival press centre
- access to press conferences
- access to Movers & Shakers networking sessions
- free use of official festival photographs for publication (see conditions)
PHOTO pass benefits
- as PRESS pass (see above), plus:
- permission to take professional photos of the event
- use of tripod
- access to the photographers’ pit (immediately in front of the stage)
VIDEO pass benefits
- as PHOTO pass (see above), plus:
- permission to shoot professional video of the event
- use of ancillary equipment eg microphone, tripod-stand, extra lighting
- more than one person, “additional crew”
Restrictions
- No drones allowed
- On stage or backstage access is not allowed
- Professional film crews operating outside the festival venue will need a film permit from the Zanzibar Government Department of Information.
- passes can only be used by the accredited individual, i.e. they cannot be transferred to another person
- In the event of misuse, the festival reserves the right to revoke accreditation at any time.
- Due to limited budget, we are unable to support travel, accommodation or subsistence expenses for accredited media

Media Accreditation form
Please note facilitation fees are necessary to help cover expenses and to continue bringing great African musicians to the festival stage. Your understanding and support is appreciated.
A limited number of complimentary press passes is available at the discretion of festival management.
Preference for complimentary passes is given to media who support and promote Sauti za Busara in advance, or who have previously covered the event. Providing links to earlier festival coverage will help enhance your application.
