This Dar es Salaam based group started in 2008 with ten musicians, the majority of whom are physically disabled. They choose the name TUNAWEZA to make a point; it translates roughly as 'Yes We Can'. The group now has 13 members, who between them play a variety of instruments. Masoud A. Wamani the group founder and director says Our aims are to help ourselves by earning a living through doing something creative and expressing ourselves. At the same time we can educate the youths about very important issues like HIV or the need to respect and protect all the people with disability in general.
